Mary Florence McDaniel - Oct. 8, 1924 - May 1,2009

Mary Florence McDaniel joined her beloved husband, Buford, in the House of the Lord at noon Friday, May 1, 2009. Mary was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Hartford, Ky., to Joseph and Myrtle (Hall) Bishop.
On May 28, 1946, she married Buford Leon McDaniel, who passed away Sept. 19, 2007. Together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage and raised four wonderful children, Jerry Neil McDaniel and his wife, Colleen, Bunker Hill, Brenda K. Carson and her husband, Bruce, Peru, Robert Leon McDaniel and his wife, Cheryl, Greentown, and Allen Ray McDaniel, Kokomo.
Mary was a life-long housewife who devoted herself to her husband and raising their children. She possessed the unique quality of placing others before herself. She was always concerned about their health and safety, even if she was hospitalized and in pain. Mary was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and a member of the Eastern Star.
Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband, Buford, and together they crisscrossed the United States in their motor home. Their adventures took them to all 48 continental states and produced a lifetime of memories and stories.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Kristi Rabe, Brian McDaniel, Joe Rosinski, Jesse Carson, Megan Gima, Erin McDaniel, Alicia Maggart, Ashleigh McDaniel, Jody Carson, Michael McDaniel, Austen McDaniel and Arek McDaniel; five great-grandchildren, Savannah McDaniel, Kinsey McDaniel, Derek Rabe, Bailey Carson and Rylee Maggart; and a brother, Ira Meador.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buford; her son, Weldon; and two sisters.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, with Pastor Larry Zehring officiating. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill. Friends may visit the family and celebrate Mary’s life 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
