Built for the Way Healthcare Facilities Operate

Healthcare facility teams need a mechanical contractor who keeps critical systems running, works cleanly inside an occupied building and can take responsibility for more than one trade.

01

Uptime for Critical Systems

When a boiler, chiller, air handler, pump or medical gas component fails, QPH technicians diagnose the problem, explain the repair options and provide pricing before work begins. QPH services most makes and models, including equipment installed by other contractors, and after-hours emergency response is available for facilities with a QPH service agreement.

02

Work Planned Around Patient Care

Modifications, tie-ins and equipment changes in an operating facility are scheduled with facility staff, with shutdowns planned around departments and patient care. Where it fits the project, piping and assemblies are prefabricated in QPH's shop so crews spend less time inside the building.

03

One In-House Team

QPH performs HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, building automation, specialty piping, and modeling and fabrication with its own people, so the facility has one contractor coordinating the mechanical work and one point of contact when something changes.

Renovations, Expansions & New Construction

Healthcare projects are rarely built on an empty site. QPH is set up to deliver the mechanical scope of department renovations, additions and new facilities while the rest of the building keeps operating.

  1. 1

    Preconstruction

Through Plan & Spec, QPH produces budget pricing from the architect's drawings, offers value engineering when a mechanical scope comes in over budget, and carries performance and payment bonds under a bonding program over $100 million.

  2. 2

    Coordinate the existing building

QPH's in-house VDC & Fabrication department 3D scans existing mechanical rooms and ceiling spaces, models the new work in Revit and resolves conflicts with the other trades before anyone is working above a patient floor.

  3. 3

    Prefabricate

Piping and assemblies are fabricated in QPH's shop and shipped in installation order, which shortens the schedule and reduces cutting, welding and noise inside the facility.

  4. 4

    Install, certify & start up

QPH crews install the systems, coordinate shutdowns and tie-ins with facility staff, certify the medical gas work QPH installs, and start up and commission the equipment.

Ongoing Service & Maintenance Agreements

QPH builds customized commercial service agreements around a healthcare facility's equipment, maintenance requirements and budget. Coverage can range from routine preventative maintenance to daily or weekly site visits with repairs as needed, and can cover the facility's HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and kitchen equipment under one agreement. Facilities that want QPH to manage the mechanical side of the building can add mechanical facilities management, and after-hours emergency response is available for agreement customers.
